I hope you had a lovely Christmas and celebrated the new year in.
Unfortunately I was gifted Covid for Christmas and I have been very unwell but now on the road to recovery, thank goodness.
So all my plans got cancelled, and as my brother from LA was staying with me he also caught it. It made me feel very disappointed about missing Christmas and guilty for my brother who also missed visiting our family, but nothing could have been done.
I layed there in my bed for 5 days thinking about all the Christmases I have had since I was a child and all the fun, games and laughter and love. This stopped the disappointment and sadness and guilt and I was then feeling grateful to have had 59 years on this earth with my family and not just at Christmas.
Sometimes life throws us a curveball and it is how you handle it which will generate the outcome. I used to say everything happens for a reason but after listening to one of my teachers Kyle Gray he encouraged me to see this in a different way for lots of different reasons.
When life gets difficult and negative things happen you need to "find a reason for everything to happen" . Find something positive to come out of a bad situation, the ending of a relationship, or poor health or even the passing of a loved one.
When my dad died 30 years ago, our last conversation was about children. I had my daughter who was 2.5 years old and I really wanted another child but wasn't financially in the right place. My dad said to me " do you think me and your mum could afford 6 children?" They didn't have any money either but they got through it. Sadly he died suddenly and that changed everything about worrying about money and children. My Son Ricky was born the following year and I named after my Dad.
So I found a reason to make that happen after going through such grief and loss.
Wishing you a happy and peaceful 2024.
